World Aids Day: Help Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation Save Lives

The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation knows that we can reduce the number of pediatric AIDS cases dramatically. 900 children a day are infected with HIV. The global health community and the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation have joined together to try to reduce this number to zero by 2015. But they need help.

90% of child HIV infections are passed from mother to child. These would all be preventable with proper care and treatment for the mother. Each $30 donation can fund the care and treatment for a mother for one month.

If you are able, please make a contribution to the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation in honor of World Aids day, Saturday December 1. If you are reading this after the 12/1, it isn’t too late. Donate whenever you can. Almost 90% of the proceeds go towards program services in the field.

Thanks to my involvement with the Global Team of 200 (A highly specialized group of Mom Bloggers for Social Good members who focus on maternal health, children, hunger, and women and girls) I receive information on causes like this to share. Please check out other posts from the Global Team of 200 on this and other issues.

  2. Middle-aged Diva (Carol) :

I remember Elizabeth Glazer well…I am glad her spirit lives on…and a shame she died before treatments got so sophisticated. But she’s done a lot of good. Blessings.

  3. What a wonderful cause! Thanks for sharing this! I’m tweeting this out to my followers!
