Wonderbook: Book of Spells – Harry Potter Video Game

Are you looking for a holiday gift for the Harry Potter fan in your life. Search no more. Wonderbook: Book of Spells is one of the most unique and imaginative video games I have ever seen. Harry Potter fans of all ages will feel as if they have entered the wizard’s world. Others will still love the magical effects.

My 23 year old son grew up with Harry Potter. He was part of the first wave of American children to find the series. He will always be enchanted by it. He has enjoyed playing Wonderbook: Book of Spells as much as any child might.

Wonderbook must be used with a PlayStation 3 with the Move controller and camera. The camera transports you onto the screen and your Move controller becomes a wand. The spell book, which is blank, except for some squares and rectangles, comes alive during the game. All words are seen both on the screen and are read aloud. In addition to the spells, there are stories about how the book came to be and the origins of the spells.

While my son was playing Wonderbook: Book of Spells, my husband couldn’t stop remarking about how amazing the game was. Kids will really feel like they are doing magic as the spell book comes to life.

Wonderbook: Book of Spells can be bought alone for $39.99 or with the PlayStation Move Bundle (controller and camera) for $79.99. If you have Harry Potter fans in your family but don’t have a PS3, you might want to consider getting it all as a present the entire family will never forget.

Full Disclosure: I received a free Wonderbook: Book of Spells as part of my participation in PlayStation Family. All opinions are my own.

  1. I wish Harry potter could go on forever. Tis video gam eis another way it can”!

  2. If this was for something other than the playstation I would be all over this one – my nephew would probably like this but he has the xbox360. Oh well I will keep looking

  3. Kat, there is a new Harry Potter video game out for the Xbox 360 with Kinect but I don’t know much about it.
