Secret Millionaires Club and Contest for Teens and Tweens

Ever since the recession hit the United States over four years ago, college graduates have been having a very tough time getting jobs. That is why it may come in very handy having entrepreneurial skills. Where can your teens and tweens learn these skills. That is where the Secret Millionaires Club comes in.

“The Secret Millionaires Club Learn & Earn program teaches financial literacy and entrepreneurship through activities for the classroom, home, and other settings where students and families learn. It was developed to extend the lessons of the Secret Millionaires Club webisodes and prime-time TV specials, both of which feature Warren Buffett.”

While the Secret Millionaires Club website is filled with activities, webisodes and more, the most exciting learning activity is the yearly contest. Teens and tweens ages 7-16 are encouraged to enter the “Grow Your Own Business Challenge”. Individuals or teams of two to four students have until February 15, 2013 to submit their original business idea for a product or service.

The website has a great deal of information that will help you with the “Grow Your Own Business Challenge”. The Grand Prize consists of the Individual Winner or Each Member of the Winning Team  receiving $5,000. All winners will receive a 3-day/2-night trip for two to the Grand Prize Event. Check out the prize page to see the Finalist, Semi-Finalist and Teacher/Mentor prizes.

The Secret Millionaires Club website also have pages for teachers, parents, volunteers and after-school clubs. And don’t forget to watch the cartoon webisodes that feature information on areas such as location, advertising, reputation and learning from your mistakes.
