The great thing about giving the pop culture recommendations below as gifts to your teens is that they can bring your family closer together. All of these can be shared and enjoyed by the whole family. (See 2 Great Retro Teen Holiday Gifts for more pop culture suggestions).

Pop Culture Tech
Pop culture objects are always fun. How about a retro phone? The The VTech Retro cordless Phone comes in a variety of colors and is a great retro gadget.

Books

Unofficial Hobbit Handbook
    • Geek Handbook – Being a geek is cool nowadays. And if you teen is into pop culture and technology, this Geek Handbook will probably make a great gift.

Homeland Logo Hoodie

TV show products
Is your teen a big fan of any TV series, movies or bands. Then gifts related to their obsessions will definitely be loved. Some examples are posters, t-shirts, DVDs and books (such as the Hobbit book above).

Broadway show tickets

Annie the Musical on Broadway

Get tickets for a show that your teen will love and and that you would enjoy also. I  highly recommend the new production of Annie on Broadway. It is fantastic and girls will especially love it. If you don’t live near NYC but will be visiting later in the year, giving the ticket at holiday time still counts as a holiday gift. Or, get tickets for local productions of Broadway shows. Other shows to consider are Wicked, Rock of Ages, Spider-Man Turn off the Dark and Cinderella.

  1. Good choices from the parent of four past teens. It is such a struggle to find something beyond gift cards.

  2. Pam @ over50feeling40 :

i am a high school teacher, so I know they are super excited about the Hobbit movie and I think they would like this gift a lot! Good list!

  3. Great list- love the book recommendations too!
