Now that smartphones have cameras, most people have given up on using stand alone cameras. Why be burdened with carrying an extra gadget, even if it means slightly lower quality. However, if you use smartphone apps, you may not lose any quality, and you might just get some extra features to boot.
A new book was just released, Snapp Shots: How to Take Great Pictures – With – Smartphones and Apps by Adam Bronkhorst. It was published by one of my favorite publishers, Chronicle Books. Why is that important. Because Chronicle Books produces books that are great to look at. Snapp Shots is colorful and filled with pictures, yet still manages to be chock full of information.
Snapp Shots is much more than just an apps guide. It is a guide to photography principles and how they apply to smartphone cameras. The author wants you to understand these principles, even if the camera is doing everything for you, because you might need them if you use more advanced apps.
While most technology books quickly go out of date, Snapp Shots won’t. Although it does recommend many apps, by explaining what to look for in a camera app, you can choose new apps in the future as your current apps grow old. The principles of photography stay the same.
Wouldn’t Snapp Shots: How to Take Great Pictures – With – Smartphones and Apps make a great Mother’s Day, Father’s Day or Graduation gift?
Full Disclosure: I received a free copy of this book to review.
