Will you or your teenager be applying to college soon? Have you been rejected from a University even though you had the credentials and don’t know why? Then you must read “Dirty Secrets of College Admissions” by Kathleen Kingsbury, published on The Daily Beast blog. Kathleen spoke to current and former admissions officers from schools across the United States and found some very interesting revelations:
In a Daily Beast exclusive, college admissions officers reveal just how whimsical the selection process can be. Boring math geniuses, oboe-playing poets, and rich kids from New York need not apply.

The article can be somewhat depressing, but there are also many tips offered up by the admissions officers. And most students do not have to worry. All of this mostly applies just to the most difficult to get into colleges and Universities.

  1. Forewarned is definitely forearmed. Great idea to suggest this blog. When I decided to go back to law school, I did TONS of research and read up on a lot of discussion boards before and during the process. It made all the difference in the world.

  2. Thank you for this timely advice! My son will be graduating this year, has no real clue (do we ever) on what he wants to pursue, and is sitting on the fence as to what to do next. This is one of those moments when I wish my sister (who seems to know everything there is to know about college applications and financing) lived closer!! It’s such a complex process… sigh!

  3. Diane, It really is. I am so glad I am done with it. You’ll get through it, and it always seems worse than it really is, but that isn’t much comfort now.

  4. for more information there is a blog that have help me a lot :
