I love giving educational gifts to teens and tweens. The trick is to find gifts that are so much fun that the recipients don’t even realize they are educational, at least at first. Educational gifts come in the form of toys, games, kits, books and more.

Here are some fun educational gifts for teens and tweens that I recommend:

Perplexus Epic

Navigate a steel ball along the tracks while you flip, twist and turn the sphere.  Improves hand-eye coordination, spatial relations, and motor and dexterity skills.  Great gift for Tweens.

Elenco Snap Circuits

Fun Educational Gift Teens Tweens

A fun way to learn electronics for teens and tweens from 8-15. They can build over 300 projects, including a radio, doorbell and burglar alarm. Winner of many awards.

There are so many more SmartLabs, for boys, girls and most of them are gender neutral.

ThinkFun Rush Hour Ultimate Collector’s Edition

If you aren’t already familiar with classic game Rush Hour by Think Fun, you should be.  It is one of the best logic games there is. While it says it is for ages 8 to adult, if you have a 6 or 7 year-old with good spatial reasoning skills, they might do well with it. I play the app version and love it.

If you want to make a special gift of this truly special game, the ThinkFun Rush Hour Ultimate Collector’s Edition would make a wonderful gift that the whole family could share.

Large Lego Building Sets

Legos are not just for kids. There are many sets where the recommended ages are for teenagers. Not only do many skills come into play while building, but it is so nice when teens continue to use their creativity skills this way. Some of the sets made for teens are:

  4. Two of our most favorite things in the world- Perplexus (we’re not ready for Epic yet) and LEGOs!! Love this!

  5. I can vouch for the Rush Hour game. I have a couple of different varieties and we love that!
