Dear Teen Me: Authors Write Letters to Teen Selves in New Book

Life as a teenager isn’t easy. We all make stupid mistakes, dislike various aspects of our lives and have trouble seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Dear Teen Me: Authors Write Letters to Their Teen Selves (True Stories) is one of the most encouraging books for teens that I’ve ever read.

While the letters are on a huge variety of topics, what they have in common is that they compliment their teen selves on what they are doing right and let them know how much better other aspects of their lives will be. Every teen that reads Dear Teen Me, will be able to see themselves in at least a few of the letters, if not more.

Some of the letters in Dear Teen Me are about the normal trials and tribulations of high school and friendships. Others might deal with topics such as bullying, abuse, body issues and love. Since these are all true stories, the advice will have more resonance with readers.

I loved reading Dear Teen Me as an adult. Being in the shoes of the author, I know how much life changes once we get into the real world and see the truth in their words. I would have so much to say if only I could get myself to actually sit down a write a letter to my teenage self.

  4. I remember as a teen it often helped me if my mother related stories of situations she had come against. I felt like I was not the only one having the problems so was not so stressed about it.
