The relationship of a mother and child is the most unique and one of the most important in our lifetime. That is what makes This I Believe: On Motherhood, a book of essays on motherhood from ordinary people, so interesting. Each story is completely different.
The personal essays range from mothers recounting their defining moments of being a parent to others who share the impact their mothers had on them. Stories of both joy and sorrow illustrate the powerful bond that exists between mother and child.
As all mothers are both mothers and daughters, I can relate to many of the essays written from both sides. There are stories in here from stepmothers and adoptive mothers and children of all ages. Everyone is represented. This I Believe: On Motherhood would made a great Mother’s Day gift for any mother.
