Have you ever dreamed of running your own business? A new TV series on A&E, Be The Boss, will feature two franchise employees competing to win a franchise of their own. The first episode airs Sunday, December 2, 2012 at 11pm ET/PT on A&E.

The employees competing think that the prize is a promotion. Along the way they realize that the prize is actually ownership of the franchise. I owned a franchise at one point and the great thing about it is the idea has already been tested and all systems, ads, etc. are already in place. The most difficult part can be paying for it.

The franchise brands that the contestants will be competing to win in the first season include:

  1. The Melting Pot Restaurant – Fondue restaurant franchise (delicious, especially the desserts).
  2. Aunt Annies – Hand-rolled soft pretzels sold in a variety of flavors mostly at malls and airports (love these pretzels – so hard to resist).
  3. Molly Maid – Professional residential housecleaning (best part of using this type of service is the maids are insured, licensed and bonded).
  4. Complete Nutrition – Retail stores that sell nutritional supplements for safe and effective weight management, sports nutrition, and general health.

The first episode of Be The Boss, airing this Sunday, will feature the Complete Nutrition franchise. A former beauty pageant queen will battle a country-singing Marine for a promotion at an up-and‐coming sports nutrition chain.  After the competition turns personal, the winner is rewarded with the keys to their very own store. Check out the LifetimeMoms website for more information. Tune in to A&E on Sunday nights at 11pm ET/PT to watch the new series Be The Boss.

  1. Darlene :

Whoa. Sound like the competition could be fierce with a former beauty pageant queen and a Marine. I’m rooting for the Marine!! Sight unseen.

  2. I’d think I ‘d like to see this. I have seen many other cooking and business shoes but never one together. I’d want to be on the one for MELTING POT!

  3. Middle-aged Diva (Carol) :

    I AM the boss! LOL

  4. SInce I am the boss, I love to watch these type of shows! Thanks for the heads up!

  5. Sandra polskiy :

When I first heard about this new show on A&E I was like “oh great, another reality show” but after reading about it, it really seems like it’s a great idea. There are lots of people out there looking for that one opportunity and this might be it. The show premieres on Sunday and I’ve already got my DISH Hopper set to record it. It’s got four times more space than your average DVR so I don’t have to delete what I’ve already recorded. I’m sure that there will be all sorts of different companies on the show and my DISH co-worker is wondering which one will be the biggest. What a great idea for a show. Personally I would be so excited to compete for that dream of working for myself.
