2 Great Retro Teen Holiday Gifts

Wouldn’t it be fun if you could give your teens presents that you used growing up, without them appearing old-fashioned? Here are two great items that your teens will love and so will you.

Duo Pinball
Before video games, we had pinball games. Arcades, bowling alleys and bars were full of large pinball machines that were just as addicting as video games.
However your teens can do something that you never could – bring pinball home. Now you and your teens can play pinball with Duo Pinball, a gadget that you connect to your iPad that has flippers and a spring-loaded plunger. Combine this with the Pinball HD collection on the App Store and you can relive your youth while your teens have a ball discovering pinball fun.

Do you still have your old vinyl records? If so your teens will get a real kick out of listening to them. When my son developed an interest in classic rock and then found my old album collection, he had a ball. However he had to listen to them on our old stereo system. Now, you can find a stand alone turntable with speakers built in for less than $100. We just bought our son a Crosley Tech Turntable with built in speakers and radio for $65 and he loves it. And since vinyl is making somewhat of a comeback (ex. new Beatles Vinyl Stereo Box Set) a turntable can come in handy even if you already discarded your old lps.

If you give your teens either one or both of these presents, you will be giving more than just a product. You will be able to share your gaming and music adventures with your teens.

Full Disclosure: I received the Duo Pinball game for free to review. All opinions are my own. I purchased the turntable.

  1. Ok, I want that turn table! lol. My mom has a great collection of old records that I used to listen to all the time growing up. I miss them! but I don’t have anything to play them on.

  2. Cheap Is The *New* Classy :

I have a HUGE record collection! I want that turntable bad!

  3. I had the second item, the all in one turntable. My mom just mentione she wanted something similar. Used your link to go there, hope you get credit.

  4. Wow – I love the turntable! I need to find out if my parents still have their old record collection – this is a great gift idea!

  5. love the turntable!

  6. I want the turn table too I have so many old vinyl records that unfortunately just “sit there waiting”

  7. I can’t tell you how many hours of my childhood were spent playing pinball and to think that I can now play pinball at home is amazing. I wonder if it’s easier or harder on an IPad than in person. My 11 year old would love this but I’m curious if my 8 year old could handle playing pinball on an IPad.

  8. Melissa Say What? :

Great ideas! Unfortunately, my son does not have an iPad. That’s the one thing I don’t think he needs and he doesn’t listen to music. Sigh! If only he were me….I’d totally love either!
